Tom Zhang attended BWYA from Grade 6 through DP2, completing both the MYP and the DP. After graduating from BWYA in 2014, he went on to achieve remarkable academic success at Johns Hopkins University, one of the world’s most prestigious research institutions, earning a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology before completing a PhD in Biophysics.
Jenny Ding joined BWYA in 2016 and spent four formative years at the school from Grade 9 through DP2. Now working as a trader in New York, Jenny credits her time at BWYA with shaping both her global outlook and personal growth.

After graduating, Vincent headed to Switzerland to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Global Hospitality Management at Les Roches.
Anna, a BWYA alumna now studying Economics, Finance, and Art History at the University of Hong Kong, reflects warmly on her seven years at the academy. Her favourite memories include cultural trips to places like Jiangxi and Luoyang, where she explored pottery and tea traditions with classmates from diverse backgrounds. She also fondly recalls service projects and outdoor activities like climbing, which helped build teamwork and lasting friendships. These experiences, she says, were not only fun but deeply formative.
Meet Olivia — a proud BWYA alumna from the Class of 2019, now deep in the world of social research at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. With a master’s degree underway in Social Research/Sociology and an undergraduate degree in History already under her belt, Olivia is blending the worlds of qualitative and quantitative research like a pro. But before she was crunching data and decoding graphs, she was starring in student films and painting surrealist dreams in art class.

Jack Shen, currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Munich, fondly recalls a memorable experience from his BWYA days. During a UN Day celebration, his homeroom represented Japan. He and his classmates painted a mural of Mount Fuji. The sense of unity and teamwork that emerged from this project remains a cherished memory.
