Alumni Stories - Jack Shen
Jack Shen, currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Munich, fondly recalls a memorable experience from his BWYA days. During a UN Day celebration, his homeroom represented Japan. He and his classmates painted a mural of Mount Fuji. The sense of unity and teamwork that emerged from this project remains a cherished memory.
Subsequently, one of the IB learner profiles that has stayed with Jack is critical thinking. This skill has enabled him to process information objectively, nurturing a healthy approach to acquiring knowledge. Over time, critical thinking has also shaped his university experience, fostering independence and responsibility. For instance, Jack has learned to manage his finances, a critical skill of self-reliance that extends beyond the classroom.
Jack highlights that no one can ever be fully prepared for life’s challenges, even if they think they are. His advice to young Wolves is to accept that true readiness is impossible, and instead, embrace uncertainty with courage. By adopting this mindset, you can face the future with resilience and openness. Thank you, Jack, for sharing your experiences and wisdom.
