PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
BUILDING COMMUNITY SPIRIT
The BWYA Parent Teacher Association has a proud history of bringing all the members of our community together. With the help of our incredible volunteers, we are able to organise and experience fantastic events and activities for all to enjoy.
PTA VALUES
PTA acts as a bridge between the home and the school. Through interactions, we build respect, trust and understanding, which are vital for a robust community.
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR PARENTS
- Join the PTA parent chat group and get administrative staff support.
- Be a parent representative or volunteer in your child’s homeroom and help organise events that will benefit the community.
- Participate or create enrichment activities, workshops, and seminars to grow parenting skills and bond with the parenting community.
PTA 10th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
On July 26 2024, PTA celebrated its 10th anniversary. The primary and secondary parent representatives, as well as past parent representatives joined in the celebration. It has been a fruitful 10 years as PTA strives to bring the whole school community closer together.
The parent representatives were awarded certificates for their achievements in coordinating and participating in school events. This is especially notable in the May Fair event, the Food and Nutrition Committee meetings and the WASC parent focus group meetings.
UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS
*Please note that all community events are for BWYA members only. This includes parents, students, staff, and friends of any of these groups.
We are delighted to announce an upcoming Parent Social Event designed to deepen connections and foster collaboration within our school community. This gathering will serve as a platform to strengthen Home-School collaboration, empower PTA representatives and cultivate a harmonious co-education environment. This event is a vital step toward building lasting partnerships. We look forward to your presence as we unite in service of our children’s bright futures!
We will hold our annual UN Day celebration in October. This annual event holds great significance as it not only acknowledges the accomplishments and aspirations of the United Nations but also serves as a platform to promote awareness and understanding of the 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) among our students. The event consists of a flag parade, SDGs-themed classroom activities, and parent judges.
Every year, we team up with the University Counsellor team to host Career Day. Its main goal is to give students a special chance to interact with professionals from various fields, and learn more about how companies function. As entrepreneurial parents, your insights, experiences, and expertise will guide our students as they explore career options. Your involvement will enrich the event and inspire them to chase their dreams with passion.
