Dear Parents/Guardians:

It is already the middle of first semester here at BWYA – International School. This letter is coming to you just before you receive your student’s midterm report. The report has comments from each of your student’s teachers in regards to their academic performance and behavior.

We have decided to change the format of parent teacher conference night after observing many parents/guardians waiting a long time to see a teacher. This year parent teacher conference night will be organized with prearranged meeting times that will be for 10 minutes. Parents/Guardians will choose no more than three teachers that they would like to meet with by writing their names and subjects in the form below. Parents/guardians may also request a specific meeting time in the “Requested Time” column. Please send this form back to school with your student; appointments will be made on a first come first serve basis. Teachers will schedule the specific conference time and record the time in the last column.

Students will be dismissed on November 11, 2008 at 11:45. During the afternoon, student mentors will be reviewing their progress reports and teachers will be in student concern meetings to discuss the progress of students and any concerns about student progress so far this term. Teachers and mentors will then be prepared to discuss student academic performance with parents in the early evening.

We look forward to meeting with you on November 11 to discuss with you the progress your student has made so far this year. Please be advised that we will be unable to provide translators during conferences. If you need a translator to help you communicate with teachers, please bring one with you.
